Better than Computers

Humans are amazing and capable of so much… if we choose to be.

It is estimated that the mind of one person has anywhere between 50,000 and 70,000 thoughts per day.

It might not seem like much, but one of the most advanced supercomputers simulated human thought for one second… it took 40 minutes of calculations.

In other words, 82 thousand processors worked on this very thought that you are reading right now in only a few moments.

The human mind is capable of such great things and yet still we will experience sorrow, grief, or tested to our breaking point.

But difficulty allows us to adapt to new circumstances.  We can to rebuild our lives or become something completely different from who we are.  We also have the power to become more compassionate, understand and feel sympathy towards our fellow human beings.  These small feats are beyond the capacity of a supercomputer.

So if we are capable of beating out an electronic processing unit in only a few moments, how much more are we capable of doing in this lifetime?
