At what point did 20th century citizens realize that status quo governance was no longer the acceptable form of governing the People of the United States of America, because the lessons that we learned then could be applied to todays 21st century Robber Barons? What did the citizens learn to protect them from the Oligarchy who controlled the outcome of their destiny?  Maybe 21st century Oligarchy/Robber Barons have a different game plan? Maybe this group of rich individuals is using different tactics and strategies to accrue their wealth and power?

Let’s first define what a 21st century Robber Baron is:

21st century Robber Barons a wealthy and powerful businessman who engages in exercises such as:

  • Exerting control over natural resources
  • Influencing high levels of government
  • Paying subsistence wages
  • Squashing competition by acquiring their competitors to create monopolies
  • Raising prices
  • Schemes to sell stock at inflated prices to unsuspecting investors

Referring back to the original description of our 19th century group of robber barons, there doesn’t seem to be a difference. Let us check again. Yup, not a single difference between then and now.

Somehow, we the victims act surprised by this repetitive behavior that has been performed over and over again. We scream for change, yet we accept this system of policy by consistently voting for the same group of ‘lawmakers’ with a new suit to help justify (or pacify) the actions of the Robber Barons of the 21st century. We must stop being victims of our own demise. To enact change we have to turn our backs to the status quo, the American Centrist Dogma that has increasingly given power to this oligarchy.

We must examine historically the candidate’s actions and policies. If these have maintained status quo government, enacting no change, but the will of the oligarchy; then we have only ourselves to blame for this ‘Broken Record’ system of governance.   Our vote must be used to enact how we see the vision of our country. The Democratic Primary Race is used to decide which candidate best represents our views, morals, ethics, and values.

If HRC loses the popular vote, but wins by delegate count (the DNC system of maintaining status quo), then we the people are asked to use our voting power to enact the same policy that has been used to keep the status quo again. Though, if we refrain from voting in the general election for HRC, then can this not be seen as a message of unhappiness with the power of status quo candidates that the DNC Leadership is forcing on us, the People? Bernie Sanders might be speaking of impossible dreams, but by actively participating in the American Centrist Dogma giving power to the Oligarchy rather than to the people. Are we not perpetuating a burden for our own future and our children’s?

We must unify around our ‘Single Issue’… A Need for New Leadership for a New Era of Government for the People and by the People.
