The ‘Tale’ That Bites The Snake

The last 15 years of our American lives, we have experienced yet again another period of war time. Though we as the GI Generation, Mature/Silents, Baby Boomers, Generation X and Generation Y, have experienced multiple periods of violence be it World Wars, Cold Wars, or Violent Skirmishes. These memorable and unforgettable historical events did end. We have learned that history from our prior generations and have moved on, only to repeat the same again and again. At what point, did our Interventionist ideology become a permanent policy through each successive generation? Did Isolationism prove to be a dead philosophy, with no benefit over the costs? How do we explain to our youngest generation about previous wars and lessons that we learned from the decisions that we made? Was these Acts of War, that we ‘the older generations’ have not experienced enough to change our ideology?

None of this compares to what our youngest generation is, has and will have experienced in the years to come. Generation Z will only know war, because that is what their generation has lived through for the last 15 years. With no end in site to this current phenomenon, this entire generation will have been born during this violent American Experience. Will this Generation Z be the future that leads us finally to a time of peace? Can they relieve us of their predecessors endless repetitive history of being the world police? Or will they once again be the ‘tale’ that bites the snake…
