(1) Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
 .
As a child I always wanted to be a dancer. My parents couldn’t afford lessons so I would watch American Bandstand and practice the moves. I wasn’t that good comparatively speaking so I was made fun of. I had a boy friend who loved to dance and wanted to dance in the ballet classes. In the 50’s that was an uphill battle so both of us would pretend to be dancers, practice, and wish that one day when we grew up we could be on stage dancing.
 .
(2) How do you get inspired to write?
 .
I have always loved creating my own worlds, I am a part of that world and I can do or be anything I want in the world that I have created.
.
(3) What are you currently working on?
.
I am currently working on a sequel to the Black Madonna about Luci and her friends becoming involved in finding a lost race of people.  I’m also working on a cozy mystery about a young woman who lives in Fresno, California and has graduated from Fresno State with her BS in Vitaculture and Enology becomes involved in a murder mystery in the wine industry of the central valley..
 .
(4) What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
 .
My advice to aspiring writers is to read, read, and read. The more you read in the genre that you want to write about the better you’ll get. I also believe an education in writing, learning about the structure, plot, settings, and the basic structure of English would serve you ell.
 .
(5) What’s the best thing about being a writer?
I think that best thing about being a writer is being able to create my own world, I know I’m being redundant but I can have a map, lay it out, make up my own streets and create my own protagonists and antagonists for the story. I create the world that I want to write about.
 .
(6) How do you deal with writer’s block?
 .

I havn’t had writers block yet but when I do I’ll let you know. My mind is always racing, you get ideas from books, from newspapers, from the people you see daily. It’s never ending but what’s great about all this information is that you can turn it and twist it any way you want too. To me that’s exciting.

Very interesting. I agree with so much here. I love the power being a writer gives you. The things that you can create and make “real” in your book of fiction. I don’t get “writer’s block” either. I do get blocked from writing as much as I want to because of mostly my day job.

Very interesting that you wanted to be a dancer and how that played into all this.
I didn’t thing there were many other people who remember Dick Clark’s American Bandstand.

    I enjoyed your blog post.

Hi Linda, love your cover and you’re video. It was great. Glad you could identify with me. I also wanted to be a nun but that didn’t pan out either😀
